CCAvenue, the flagship payments brand of AvenuesAI Limited, has brought Apple Pay to its merchant network, enabling customers to use Apple devices for contactless, in-app and online payments.
The integration is aimed at expanding payment options for CCAvenue merchants while offering customers a secure and streamlined checkout experience across supported Apple devices.
Contactless Payments With Apple Devices
With Apple Pay, customers can make in-store contactless payments by double-clicking the side button on their iPhone, authenticating through Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode, and holding the device near a compatible payment terminal.
Apple Pay can be used at various businesses that accept contactless payments, including grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, coffee shops and retail outlets.
Faster Online and In-App Checkout
Apple Pay also enables customers to make purchases through apps and on the web using iPhone and iPad, with Mac support coming soon, according to the company.
The payment option removes the need for users to repeatedly enter card details, contact information and shipping or billing addresses during checkout.
Security and Privacy at the Core
Apple Pay uses multiple security mechanisms to authenticate transactions, including a one-time unique dynamic security code.
According to the information shared by CCAvenue, actual card numbers are not stored on the device or Apple servers and are not shared with merchants. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned to the card and encrypted before being securely stored in the device’s Secure Element.
This architecture is designed to keep payment credentials protected while enabling users to make transactions through their Apple devices.
Simple Setup Through Apple Wallet
Customers can set up Apple Pay by opening the Wallet app on an iPhone, tapping the ‘+’ button and following the steps to add an eligible card.
Once a card is added to a supported Apple device, customers can begin using Apple Pay for eligible transactions. Users can also continue receiving the rewards and benefits associated with their bank cards, according to the company.
CCAvenue Expands Payment Options
Commenting on the development, Pankaj Dedhia, Group CBO, CCAvenue Payments Services Division, AvenuesAI Limited, said the company has focused on bringing new payment technologies and experiences to the Indian market.
He added that making Apple Pay available through CCAvenue’s merchant network provides customers with another way to complete payments using devices they are already familiar with.
