The company said the milestone reflects growing demand among NRIs and Overseas Citizens of India for digital access to investment and wealth-management products through GIFT City.
Founded in 2024 by Ankur Choudhary, Ayush Singh and Savitri Bobde, Belong initially launched for NRIs in the UAE. It now serves users across more than 39 countries and has over 55,000 active users, including 50,000+ registered NRIs.
Expanding Access To GIFT City Products
Belong offers USD fixed deposits through International Banking Units of Indian banks operating in GIFT City. Its product suite has expanded to include GIFT City mutual funds, Alternative Investment Funds, GIFT Nifty Futures and Indian tax-filing services for NRIs.
The platform brings multiple investment and financial services into a single digital interface, helping global Indians manage India-linked investments from overseas.
Moving Beyond Remittances
The company is targeting a broader shift in the financial behaviour of the Indian diaspora, as NRIs increasingly look beyond remittances and explore investment opportunities across currencies and markets.
GIFT City provides access to foreign-currency-denominated financial products within a framework designed for international financial services. Belong is seeking to simplify the process of investing in these products by reducing operational and documentation-related complexities for users.
New Products In The Pipeline
Belong plans to expand its offering with USD fixed-income funds, US stocks and ETFs for NRIs and resident Indians, remittance services and a global multi-currency card.
The company also aims to build a wider platform covering investments, banking and spending solutions for global Indians.
Building A Cross-Border Wealth Platform
“Global Indians are increasingly looking beyond remittances and asking how their money is allocated, in which currency, in which product and at what tax cost,” said Ankur Choudhary, Co-founder and CEO, Belong.
“Crossing $20 million in AUM while growing at over 20% month on month tells us that shift is real. Our focus now is to build a global wealth-management platform where users can manage investments across currencies, markets and products in a single digital experience,” he added.
With its latest AUM milestone, Belong is positioning itself as a cross-border investment platform for the Indian diaspora and as a digital participant in GIFT City’s expanding financial-services ecosystem.
