Mumbai, August 2026: Vibha Padalkar has been re-appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HDFC Life Insurance Company for another five-year term, effective September 12, 2026, following approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Padalkar has served as MD & CEO of HDFC Life since 2018. Her re-appointment will continue her leadership of the life insurer as it enters its next phase of growth, business expansion and strategic development.
Before taking on the MD & CEO role, Padalkar served as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at HDFC Life for more than a decade. During this period, she was involved in financial management, business strategy and various aspects of the company’s operations and growth.
Prior to joining HDFC Life, Padalkar served as Executive Vice President – Finance at WNS Global Services. She began her professional career with Colgate-Palmolive, where she gained experience in corporate finance before moving into the financial services sector.
With more than three decades of professional experience, Padalkar has built a career spanning financial management, strategy, corporate finance and business leadership.
Her continued tenure comes as India’s life insurance industry undergoes significant changes, driven by digital adoption, evolving customer expectations, expanding distribution networks and efforts to increase insurance penetration.
Under Padalkar’s continued leadership, HDFC Life is expected to focus on strengthening its business operations, expanding its reach and responding to emerging opportunities across India’s life insurance market.
The re-appointment marks the continuation of Padalkar’s leadership journey at HDFC Life and provides continuity as the company works towards its long-term growth and strategic priorities.
