OTPless Appoints Former BharatPe Technology Head Geetanshu Singla as CTO

Bengaluru-based identity and authentication startup OTPless has appointed Geetanshu Singla as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), bringing in a technology leader with experience at BharatPe and Genwise as the company looks to strengthen its authentication and fraud prevention platform.

Singla will oversee engineering, product development, platform architecture, reliability and security. His responsibilities will cover OTPless’s authentication solutions, including Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence and passkeys.

Before joining OTPless, Singla served as Vice President of Technology at BharatPe, where he worked closely with OTPless co-founders Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar during the fintech company’s early growth. He later co-founded Genwise, which shut down its operations in December 2025.

His appointment comes amid a series of leadership changes at OTPless. On September 18, the company elevated Nathani to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Sagar to Chief Operating Officer (COO). It subsequently appointed early team member Manas Poddar as Chief Business Officer (CBO) on October 1.

Strengthening Authentication for Digital Businesses

As online businesses compete to deliver faster and smoother customer experiences, authentication has become an important part of the user journey. Slow or unsuccessful logins can frustrate customers and lead to lost transactions, making reliable identity verification a priority for consumer-facing platforms.

OTPless aims to address this challenge by helping businesses verify users through alternatives to traditional SMS-based one-time passwords (OTPs). Its platform combines Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence and passkeys to support user verification and fraud prevention.

Singla’s experience building technology at BharatPe is expected to support the company as it develops its infrastructure for large consumer internet platforms.

“The businesses we serve are some of India’s largest consumer platforms, and for them, login is the front door to their entire business,” said Sagar. He noted that slow or failed authentication can result in lost customers and said Singla’s experience building technology at scale would strengthen the reliability customers expect from OTPless.

Singla also highlighted his existing relationship with the founders, saying he had worked closely with Nathani and Sagar at BharatPe. He described joining OTPless as “coming back home” and pointed to the opportunity to expand beyond OTP-based authentication into a broader identity and trust infrastructure layer.

Growing Enterprise Adoption and Revenue

Founded in 2023, OTPless provides authentication and identity infrastructure to consumer internet businesses. The company says its platform has authenticated more than 300 million users across platforms including Meesho, Zepto, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket and ixigo.

The startup has also reported strong revenue growth. According to the company, its topline has grown 2.5 times over the past year, reaching ₹36 crore in annualised revenue. It has also been at break-even for the past two quarters.

OTPless has raised more than $6 million from investors including Venture Highway, White Venture, FJ Labs, SIDBI and Piper Serica.

With Singla taking charge of technology, OTPless is looking to build on its adoption among major digital platforms and strengthen the infrastructure that businesses rely on to authenticate users securely and efficiently. Its next phase of growth will depend on maintaining reliability at scale while helping businesses balance seamless access with stronger fraud prevention.
